Industrial automation.
Grounded in the process.
Manufacturing IT, controls troubleshooting, and custom diagnostic systems informed by over 15 years of inline thermoforming experience.
A production-floor perspective.
Justin brings over 15 years of inline thermoforming experience and his role as a Senior Process Engineer at a plastics manufacturing company to BizHostNC. His experience spans continuous lines that extrude sheet and form parts inline, running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Years of high- and low-voltage electrical troubleshooting, controls troubleshooting, and continuous improvement work connect technical problem-solving with an understanding of the plastics manufacturing process.

More insight at the HMI.
BizHostNC designed a modernized TSL Diagnostics application to support extensive troubleshooting from the HMI. The application is part of our work connecting manufacturing knowledge with practical diagnostic tools.
HMI-based troubleshooting
A custom diagnostics application brings troubleshooting capabilities to the HMI, providing another way to investigate the systems behind the process.
OpenAI-assisted analysis
Our diagnostic workflow also uses OpenAI to assist analysis: we share diagnostic data with a model and ask questions about it. This adds a conversational analysis tool alongside hands-on engineering expertise.
Support for the systems around the machine.
HMI modernization & backups
Our project work includes HMI computer replacements, Windows upgrades, and backup planning for HMI, PLC, and engineering PCs. At a well-known Charlotte plastics manufacturer, lower-cost HMI computer replacements saved thousands in hardware costs.
Read the HMI modernization case study →Power protection & shutdown
For another manufacturer, we sized and installed UPS systems so HMI PCs could shut down gracefully when power was removed, addressing recurring drive corruption associated with abrupt shutdowns.

Custom historian
We designed and deployed a historian for a factory’s HMI using an OPC UA client, InfluxDB for historical readings, and Grafana for dashboards and trends. The system is operational, with ongoing development.
Explore the historian project →FactoryTalk Optix integration
We’re implementing an industrial IoT system across a plastics manufacturer’s Allen-Bradley PLC-driven machinery, using FactoryTalk Optix to bring machine data together for centralized visualization.
